Content Management

Tibet Server is a user-friendly interface that makes it quick to get acquainted with how to edit pages. You can easily format text with headings, create bulleted list, add images, and much more. Our editing tool is a so called WYSIWYG editor - What You See Is What You Get! In just a few minutes, you have begun to create an entire web page.

Versions Management

With Tibet Content Server Edition, you can easily manage the users of the system - such as administrators and editors - but you need not worry that any information will be lost when you work. Pages can not be overwritten because a new version is created automatically each time you have published a page. Using the history function, you can easily go back to an earlier published version. You can feel safe that no information disappears!

Design and Layout Management

Tibet Server makes it easy to modify and update the Web page design. The possible combinations of layouts, color schemes and page structures that can be created and combined are seemingly endless. You are not limited to a single template - it is possible to choose from several predefined color schemes so you can easily change the color or style, for example for Christmas or other holiday when you want to reach out with a specific campaign.

Security Management

We have solid security and protect your sensitive material! You can choose which pages to be hidden to the public, eg, individual pages can be designated for a specific group of users. Adaptable user interface

Tibet Server administration is adaptable to user preferences and permissions. Users may select which functionality to be available or super administrators may provide select functionality to non-technical staff, giving a flexible interface, providing simple, easy-to-use tools for non-technical staff, and richer, more complex tools for more advanced administrators.

Criteria and permission-based content creation/entering

Permissions for accessing, editing, publishing, etc are granted on a per-page basis to administrators and users.
Users may edit their own member pages.

Image library

Tibet Server contains a multimedia-repository which allows categorization, tagging, channeling, localization, storage and distribution of images, video, audio, and any other multimedia content.
The content may be uploaded and managed through the administration interface, through user-generated content modules, or through a 3rd party Digital Asset Management System.

Image editing tools

Image resizing and meta data. Multimedia repository manages images in several formats and sizes.

Document library for import and manage document files

Tibet Server manages documents in any number of categories, allowing secure distribution and easy management. Documents may be uploaded by site members, if required.

Content re-use

Content may be stored in media repositories, commercial product descriptions, document metadata, pages, or articles and displayed anywhere on the site, depending on security access, functionality, or context. A single content source may be used in different contexts and made accessible to different defined user groups.

Aggregation and component management

Tibet Server Connectivity Service provides management capabilities for external data sources as well as handling of tiles of cached external content that may be placed anywhere on a web site. It is possible combine and publish discreet content chunks originating from various sources.

Content tagging and categorization

Content can be either categorized according to semantic multilingual tags or by logical structure.

Content indexing

Any type of content or object may be tagged and given keywords.

Content structuring and linking

Dynamic connections may be created to link any type of object with any other, providing an unparalleled flexibility in data structuring.

Dynamic object linking

Tibet Server offers the possibility of linking any type of object to any other in order to allow dynamic connections between, for example, shop products and multimedia content, or blog entries and rating functionality. These connections are also available to external objects that are part of a customer-specific plugin.

Dynamic navigation structures

Supports the ability to create new navigation structures across the site or sections of the site:

• The Site Menu Module allows administrators to add a submenu anywhere on the site, showing content from the page structure.
• The Site Map Module can be added to any page to show a map of all pages (or selected levels) on the site.
• The Breadcrumb Module allows adding of a hierarchical navigation anywhere on the site.
• Page panels allow navigational structures and other content or functionality to be added to a whole hierarchy of pages, being inherited to all subpages.

Sitemap generation

Automatic based on content structure, security settings, and visibility context for pages. Also generates an XML Google Sitemap.
Sitemaps are visible on 404 Not Found-pages as well as available as a module for inclusion in the web site.

Ability to define content management rights on an individual, role, and group basis

Security management of user, roles, groups, and permissions for individual pages or a page hierarchy.

Tracking of content authoring/editing history

Each page or article is equipped with a language-specific version history. A page version is locked from editing after having been published. It is possible to track who made the last alterations to the page, the date of last modification and date of publishing.
Furthermore it is possible to restore a previous version of a page as well as to compare differences between two separate language versions of a page.

Site content archiving and retrieval capabilities

Pages and articles may be archived by being flagged as archived, being moved to a non-public archive structure, or by being made unavailable through permission or visibility settings.
There is currently no way of archiving an entire site.

Support for schedule-based  preview modes

It is possible to preview a page for a selected date, past, present, or future.

Flexible navigation and a high level of usability and accessibility

Websites comply to W3C standards, object re-use, usability, search engine readability as well as supporting accessibility for people with disabilities and work with assistive technologies according to the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI).

Separate content from presentation

Content, content structure, and context design are separated and may be freely combined to adjust presentation depending on publication channel or user preferences.

Dynamic page assembly and delivery

Page assembly is done in a Templating pipeline:
screens -> layouts -> navigations/panels/structures-> sections -> modules -> tiles
Each step is dynamically rendered and cached on demand.

Print support

Pages and articles may be given a printer-friendly layout (without menus, navigations, and with a high-contrast color scheme).

Presentation of content using semantic, standards-compliant (X)HTML

Multiple browser/system/ format support

Cascading style sheets to control appearance on multiple devices

CSS styles are part of the selected skin applied to a page. Depending on target channel, the CSS styles may change.

Page layout defined by a flexible template system

Page templates are based on layouts, skins, and content structures and may be freely combined with text/image content and module functionality to maximize the flexibility when designing web pages and developing web solutions.
Permissions may be applied to limit access to layout modifications for any single page.

Modular adding of ad-hoc content elements

Page layouts may contain any number of content sections in pre-defined areas. A section may be given a section styling with colors, backgrounds, borders, etc to highlight such content from main content on the page.

Aggregate and present remote RSS feeds

The RSS Module allows aggregation of external RSS feeds and rendering according to local design styles.

Use of readable, SEO-friendly, technology-neutral URLs

All pages and articles are automatically given a localized and SEO-friendly URL when created, based on the title of the page and the URL of its parent page. The URL may be adjusted, translated, or extended with secondary URL’s for the same page, thus handling internal redirects due to content expiring or being removed.
Products in the web shop or product catalog may be given SEO friendly URL’s allowing automatic generation of landing pages for e-commerce web sites.

Index of new content

There are modules for showing a number of page summaries for the most recently updated pages on the site.

 

Multi-channel publishing

Content syndication to external channels

Content may be distributed through any of the following channels

• Web (XHTML)
• Mobile web (content adaptation based on terminal)

Content may be tagged to fit each channel, based on selection of content, image sizing, module functionality, etc.

Ability to publish to other channels

Content administrators may define their own channels and select what content chunks or pages will be included in each channel. Content may be included in several channels if required.

Automation of RSS/XML/Webservice feeds

Feeds may be generated on-the-fly based on any content or data in the system or generated on a scheduled basis.
